Champions League Not Yet Confirmed For Chelsea

Following the conclusion of the Premier League Season and Chelsea f.c. triumphing over Wolves f.c. 2-0, it can basically be said that Frank Lampard's blues will be playing Champions League football next season.





But unknown to most is that Nuno Éspirito Santos' Wolverhampton Wanderers could still come back to haunt Chelsea's Champions League dreams.




Wolves are currently vying forthis season's Europa League Title and winning this silverware means a guaranteed Champions League Position next season, therefore replacing Chelsea's automatic qualification due to finishing last amongst qualifying teams.




This is not the first time such a thing will happen, during the 2016/17 Premier League Season Manchester United didn't qualify for Champions League Football but following their winning of that season's Europea League Title they were set to replace Liverpool who finished fourth that season. Liverpool went on to playing in the Champions League Playoffs which they won to eventually qualify for it.






Assume Wolves go on to win this season's Europa League Title, Chelsea will have to compete in the Champions League Playoffs and a loss means that the London Club will only get to play domestic football next season. So Chelsea fans beware it's not over yet⚽️
