See Reactions From Nigerians As FG Announces Reduction in Fuel Price From N168 to N166.44

Fuel in Nigeria has been a major issues in Nigeria today as its price has a direct effect, to the prices of other goods in the market. Sometimes prices of food in the market may not be very high but an increase in the price of fuel, will always lead to another increase in the price of goods and services in the market. Talk to any good seller today or anyone that sells other things and ask him or her why goods are expensive, what you will hear next is that transportation cost is high. Then walk up to a commercial driver and ask why transportation is high, and what you will hear next is the price of fuel is high. That's to tell you the direct effect petroleum has on goods and services and thus whenever it reduces of increases, those goods are affected.








However, there's good news as the Federal Government through the Minister of Labour and Employment Dr Chris Ngige disclosed at the end of the meeting he had with the labour leaders which started from 9pm on Monday night and ended by 1:30am this Tuesday morning, that the price has been reduced from N168 to N166.44 and will take effect from December 14th 2020. In his words, he said; "Our discussion was fruitful and the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation which is the major importer and marketers of petroleum products and customers have agreed that there will be a slide down of the pump price of PMS and that the price cut will get us about N5 per litre and that the price cut will take effect from next Monday, a week today."
