He Dragged UBA Bank After N1m Given To Him During Mum's Burial Was Removed, See What UBA Did To Him

A Nigerian Twitter user identified as Sensei took to his Twitter handle to drag UBA Bank for their complacency in handling his complaint after 1 million naira given to him after his mum's burial was fraudulently withdrawn.

In a lengthy call-out tweet he made, Sensei said over N1 million given to him by Nigeria Navy after he lost his mum who was a navy officer last year and he kept it for savings and used some parts for savings.



On January 12, 2020, he woke up to a debit of N500k which was withdrawn through Paystack and online betting company, Sportybet. On his way to the bank to make complaint, he received another debit of N500k naira withdrawn through same medium.







While at the bank, he was furious partly because for such lump sum of money to be withdrawn, he didn't get an OTP neither did he use any of the online platforms. The UBA customer care rep he called to freeze his account told him that the first debit was done on Sunday while he got the alert on Tuesday.

He filled the Charge Back form and was informed that it was a 50-50 situation. The following day he got only one reversal of N500,000 and waited for the other one to no avail.

He went back to the bank several times demanding for the other reversal. At one point the CCR told him he might have been careless with his details and his requests was replied by the bank that they are investigating the issue. It had been 19 days since he got the first reversal.

His call out tweet triggered reactions as majority of Nigerians alleged it is the same practice in some banks as they accused bank officials of stealing their customer's money and using Sportybet as conduit pipe.

24 hours after his post went viral, the young man has updated his followers what UBA bank did after his call out post triggered harsh criticism and reactions.

According to him, UBA Bank has finally reversed the other N500, 000 and completed his N1 million that was removed from his account.






The joyful news has been greeted with congratulatory messages from many Nigerians. It is another example of the power of social media which probably made UBA to react swiftly to reverse his money as not doing so would've brought bad publicity.
